Meet Agustin Sanchez, Conceptist Elit at Arcana Academy

Rebecca Sun, Socialite

Agustin Sanchez just passed his one-year anniversary of working at Arcana Academy. To celebrate the occasion I got to sit down and ask him a few questions pertaining to his work and his life outside the office.

Full Name: Agustin Sanchez

Position: Copywriter, or as we go by at the Academy, Conceptist Elit

Year Started Here: A year and one month ago in September 2012

What is your favorite part about working here?
The people. And the distance to my house. You can put the distance to my house as #1 and the people as #2.

What were your jobs before this?
Let's see... I've worked as a lifeguard, as a waiter--I once even engraved license plates at a mall kiosk. I wanted to be a professional poker player at one point but that would have been a lot of downtime.

What is your favorite song to belt out on your commute to work?
Ahh... It's that new Drake song "Hold On, We're Going Home".

How do you unwind after a day of work?
I load up on Grand Theft Auto at home, then go out surfing until the sun goes down and watch the sunset from the beach.

How do you get the creative juices flowing?
Well, they are always flowing, they never stop. I'm just juicy.

Drink of choice?
Macallan 12

On the rocks?
Just one rock. A big one.

Where would we find you on a Friday night?
Probably at home with a good movie, too tired from a wild Thursday night.

What is the #1 song on your iTunes Top 25 Most Played?
It's actually one of my songs... it was because I was demoing it a lot.

Ah yes, so word on the street is that you were in a boy band when you were younger?
It wasn't a boy band. It was a band with boys. But yeah, we were about 17 when we got signed and then we ended when we were all 23. And no, I'm not going to tell you the name of the band, but it was electronic music and I played bass.

Do you still produce music?
Yeah I still produce my own stuff, as well as music for television and commercials. Mostly electronic.

What is one thing a lot of people don't know about you that they might find surprising?
My dad spelled my name wrong on my birth certificate. It's supposed to be Agustine, not Agustin.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
I would travel through Caracas, Venezuela. But I would have two bodyguards and/or a bulletproof car.

Halloween's coming up... What do you plan on being?
Rufio from Hook.

Final question. What would be the title of the autobiography of your life?
Panty Land: A Memoir of What I Remember
